My name is Ava Jackson.  I am the founder and owner of DANCE IN THE PARK, LLC. I started my company with certain goals in mind. My primary goal is to make a difference in my community. I was born and raised in the city of Detroit. When I  grew up Detroit was a beautiful,  vibrant,  well kept city. No vacant homes, lots of quality public schools, thriving businesses, and lots of jobs. Then, somewhere along the way, the bottom fell out.

 

Whether it was moral decay or just the way life cycles. I'm not sure there's a simple answer,  but in a city that is rated one of the highest in poverty,  unemployment,  incarceration and recidivism,  I am actively working at doing something about changing Detroit by building a company that provides good paying jobs, job training,  and all of the social benefits that flow from it.
